Well despite all the leaks i plugged in my trunk I was still encountering one pesky leak...but i could never quite track it down. Well today i discovered that my antenna was missing the drain tube this whole time . Being that the drain hole is on the very bottom of the antenna motor i never noticed it, but today i did some googling and discovered that that was likely my prob (the dried water spots below should have been a good hint). Went to the pick n pull and pulled the drain tubes out of a Caddy and a Buick but now I'm trying to see which one is best to use, so now my request. If anybody can take/post a pic of their antenna drain tube setup I would appreciate it very much!

Mine doesn't have one because the replacement I got off of the DTS didn't but it doesn't leak. Sure that's your problem?

Thanks Nelson! It's gotta be kyng, Ive gone through 2 tubes of silicone sealer between 3 other leak points and sealing the entire trunk gasket. The dried up water droplets that are still appearing all lead to the little drain hole at the bottom of the power antenna assembly. We do get a lot of frequent rain here as well.

i should really thank you for this, and i am, so THANKYOU SO MUCH!! I did NOT know it was there, and i recently have been getting a funky mold like smell in the car, even tho the trunk is dry now i can eliminate this as a culprit. the backside DOES have a drain tube, and i never seen it when i bought the dumb thing nor when i pulled the old one out, the old hose was still there from the old antenna! here you can see it hanging on for dear life, which i will fix tomorrow because i took this as a video in the pitch black with a phone and took screenies lol and heres where it ducts thru the car, a crummy looking bored hole in the sheet metal and mind you this hose is only like 3-4.5 inches long and is a straight shot from the antenna to the hole which is to the right of the boot with all the wires, which has another hose which i have no clue what its for...

Hah! Thats too funny. I have a funny feeling my antenna was replaced at some time in its life; the drain tube you speak of was in the hole in the sheet metal (can't fall through by design), and the drain port for the antenna is on the bottom...far from where that tube could reach. Not only that but the way the antenna is installed doesnt seem factory. Here's some pics i took...I believe the water spots are 'gritty' because of the grit/water mixture that kicks up when it rains. ...found it! lol, its a Harada aftermarket...holy franken car. Haha, learn somethin new everyday. ;D

lol nice. Well you either need to change it back to stock or move your drain tube below the level of the antenna's drain hole. It's probably clogged with sediment.

Yeah, next chance I get (we're out of scrap yard Roras' up in the PNW) I'll try to pull a used one or try to find an inexpensive one online. I'd rather clog up/flood this crap antenna then let my interior get wet again, haha.

Heck i missed your reply! lol yeah definately not stock lol I found a black on black 96 in the yard the day it was brought in and clicked the key on and bam the antenna worked still. So i nabbed it lol It was identical to my dead one. I worry about burning the motor out tho because when i turn the key on to roll the windows up and then cut it off and the thing rolls up then down real fast lol

Yeah, someone here put a "kill switch" on their antenna, which I think is a good idea. Mine quit working a few weeks ago.
