If you have ruled that your master or slave window switches are the culprit to a window not rolling up/down you may not need to replace the switch. There is not much that can go wrong with switches themselves. There are only a few moving parts and some springs. The contacts on the switches get dirty and contaminated or the springs wear out(less likely).
Here are some pictures I took during the breakdown. I will post some pictures after the clean-up later.
Inside of Master Switch:
Copper traces, contacts and acrylic bulb diffuser.
Closer View:
Rocker Contacts:
These little rockers make contact with traces to complete a circuit when the switch is moved up or down. When they get dirty they no longer make a good connection and the switch stops working or works intermittently.
One Rocker Removed:
You can now see the rocker, the pads it contacts on the traces and the pivot point.
Both Contacts Removed/Pads Viewable:
See how dirty and some corrosion on the contact pads. Need to clean this and the rocker up use a wire brush, dremel with wire wheel or fine grit sand paper and clean the contact pads on the traces and rocker.
Rocker and Pad Close-up:
Once you sand them off place tin film of di-electic grease on each contact point to prevent corrosion in the future.
I will post some more pictures of opening the switch itself up. It's pretty straight forward though. Also some pictures of the springs in the physical switches themselves.
Anyways, I can now roll my right rear passenger window down again. Only went a day without but had to find the problem. Easy fix.
