So the other night, out of the blue my buddy says he'll swap me for me 91 z28. As it turns out it was a 96 Aurora.. not really what I was looking for, and I told him so. He said "Drive it." I did, and owned it 10 min later. Shes a bluish silver (i dont know the name of the color) only down side is that the last ppl that had it slid it into a snowdrift and dented up the right side doors. 200,000 on the odometer, and EVERYTHING works (at least the stuff I know how to operate ) Any way hello and you'll see more of me... forums like this are a must for information on these older vehicles.. pix when i get em

Welcome to ACNA! Sounds like a Silver teal. What color is your interior? Where do you live? I have 4 good doors off a '97 that are silver teal.

Interior is blue. Great to hear that there are some parts around! I live in IL, approx 3 hrs south of Chicago. Im looking into trying to convince the door dents to pop out.. there arent any creases or scratches, the trim (beltline?) didnt even crack, you can just stick your index finger between it and the door lol.. but new doors might be a must so i'll keep you guys in mind

I live in IL, approx 3 hrs south of Chicago. Welcome to another Illinoisian! There's several of us here which is what led to the first Aurora, IL meet last year. What city are you closest to? I'm between Peoria and Bloomington, aura1 is around Springfield (for awhile anyway), kaykirk is Rockford, and there are several from the Chicago area. Check out this dent removal thread. Heck maybe it'll work for you.

Welll, I got her tagged up today.. all legal like. Being pushed back into the seat with the ac blasting is win Hosed off the motor the other day, and it picked up a miss, went away after we got some miles on her. Also think i fugured out how the doors got dented, theres at least one air line off in the back and she rattles around pretty good at around 70. figure they blew the line and it went all weird on em. DMV said it was green.. its not, its light metallic blue got a couple of the dents out, but the biggest have some creases, and of course they right behind the window track, and behind the door bar so at least the rear right door is toast. Gotta grab some dex cool, its low, and it was 95 today, hot aluminum is bad. Anyway, im goin back out drivin lates.

the doors: I say snowdrift, simply beacuse there is zero paint transfer/scratches, didnt even break the molding. the fender: got the back half all lined back up, the front is creased and trash :/

body shop time... your sig says you hate the hecolor too. replace all those bent body panels with junkyard parts and take her in for paint. unless you dont have the money for paint (i dont...)

listen to the youtube videos. they are one of the most quiet straight piped cars. the engines are so well built. xjsman will tell you- its quite suttle during cruising, only really loud with the pedal to the floor.

^^Very well put, CB. He's right on both accounts, it's loud without being overly so. I have straights on mine but I left the CAT and resonator where they are. The sound is awesome and it doesn't sound generic like a set of 40series flows would.
When you cruise it isn't too loud, if you have any music on at all you can barely hear it. I personally like the sound, I can't stop driving with my windows down so that I can hear it. ;D When you step on it though, she isn't quiet about it... people know you're coming. It's definitely the economical way to go too. It only cost me $50 a pipe at midas and I overpaid.
Whatever you decide to do let us know, but I would definitely consider straight pipes!
