Congrats to oldwino, and the return of the 2nd-gen to the Featured list! Keep reading for all the details on his 2002 4.0 ...

I’m honored to be featured this month and want to thank all who voted for me for this and last year’s calendar.
I purchased my 2002 Aurora 4.0 in Feb. 2008 for $8500 from the original dealer that sold it new. I’m the second owner and the original owner had traded it in for a new CTS. It had 60k miles then and currently has 80k. It’s my first Aurora and we bought on a whim. The wife and I had been looking for a while for a car that would be more comfortable while traveling than the Grand Am we have. My uncle worked at and recently retired from a Cadillac dealership about 60 miles from me in Florence, KY. I would check out their website every couple of weeks just to see what they had available. One day I came across this Aurora. I was impressed by the car’s good looks, its amenities and the V8 power. I called my uncle to ask about the vehicle history and what his best price was. A couple days later, satisfied that it was a good car at a good price, I took some cash for the down payment and we headed north for a test drive. After Julia and I drove it, we loved it and decided to take her home that day. Two weeks later, she was taking us to Florida. We use it mainly for long trips, but recently she has become a daily driver for Julia back home, as I have the Grand Am with me in San Antonio until Dec.
Julia nicknamed the Aurora “baby”, because she says I take better care of it than I do her. This is the most luxurious car we’ve had and has all the options except for the navigation and block heater. The only mod that I’ve added is a front strut tower brace.
I found this forum while looking for info about the Aurora and it’s a great tribute to all members, past and present.
Thanks again.
At a nearby horse farm.
A few pics from the 2009 Aurora meet.
