I came across an ECU Flashing cable online at a Chinese Wholesale vendor. I have had much luck with Chinese products such as a dual sim iPhone clone, 7" Touch Screen head unit and other electronic items. Shipping is cheap but takes about two weeks. I have seen several threads around the forum about flashing PCMs for more performance and/or economy. I am pondering on picking one of these up and see if it will work with Aurora. I would also have to pick up a PCM to test with from the salvage yard. Not sure when/if I will order it. I wanted to gauge the response of what other members thought. Waste of time? It is not very expensive and comes with it's own software. Here is a link for the product. Shoot. I am sure there is another member out there interested in this and could easily make there money back flashing pcm's for members. So, if you want go ahead and try one out if you get to it before I do.

It should work OK.....all it has to do is attach a laptop to the OBD 2 terminal. This big deal here is to be able to find the software that will allow reflashing.

It is shipped with software... so I do not see any problems there...
If the software does not work, it can more than likely be found via a torrent.

I looked at the makes it listed and based on the Chevy (Daewoo) and other makes that aren't avalible here I wonder if it would only work for European or Asian market cars?

Not any/many people have actually tuned a '96+ Aurora. But if you think you can make it work, give it a shot. Worst case you are out ~$60 and some time.

Doesn't seem to be enough interest in an Aurora tune, so it's on the back burner. HAHA to the turbo or supercharger.... good luck and post pictures...

Honestly. Unless you have a proven track record with tuning other cars, a working dyno, access to said dyno, and access to both cars (3.5, 4.0L) I would rather go with a company that makes it their business to tune the pcm ( Westers Garage) just my $0.02

just as Skiirt said I would leave it to the professionals on that one with a dyno tune and laptop software as they know what their doing with it instead of someone like us pushing buttons and hopefully not making the engine explode

Correct. Leave it to the professionals.
But then I would never learn how to do anything if I left it to the professionals.
Im not trying to be arrogant, but I enjoy learning new things, and every car that has an ecu can be tuned. The process to GET to the tuning will vary, but tuning it itself is teh same across most cars.
EDIT Street tuning is a better method in my book, as a dyno doesnt include aerodynamics into its tuning environment.

no but a proper person who does dyno tunes does the dyno first then takes it on the road and try's that then back to the dyno for modification etc to make it near perfect at least thats what the guy I know around here does, he is really good at it and I trust 100% of what he says

You can do whatever you want with your free time, I'm just saying don't be surprised if you don't get much support. You are venturing on your own!
