I am going to call this the sunroof shade since I don't know what else to call it. The thing you slide shut if you don't want the sun comming in through the glass sunroof.
Anyway, the fabric has lost its adhesion to the underlying material and is sagging. I would like to reapply the spary adhesive but don't see an obvious way to get the thing out for service.
Does anyone have experience here?

ya, it's not hard (all done from the outside top) open your sun roof, then slide the sun shade closed. you'll see a cross bar towards the back, that runs over the end of the shade, held in place with one torx head at each end (not sure of the size) i used a pair of pliers on the bit to twist it after it was seated in the screw no room for anything else. on the sides of the sun shade you'll see four spring clips (two on each side) that run in the channel it slides in push both clips in on one side, and lift out

Got it! Thanks.
Except mine didn't have any screws to take out. Just the spring clips. It was very easy. Now I need to figure out how to redo the lining. The foam that is in there is desintigrated. That is why the liner released. I am not sure if I should try putting a new layer of foam in there or just use spray adhesive and stick it back on as is.

Did you put simple fabric on or were you able to get fabric with a foam backing?

You can match it up with headliner fabric. It is the same as what is in the rest of the headliner(foambacking )and. You may have to order it,but it maches.I found it at a fabric store a few years back, but wife says they don't have it now.

I suspect even a sparsely populated town or countiy would have at least one body shop or interior custom shop that would have this foam fabric. In Raleigh, NC, there were several shops that said they had the fabric. I picked one, and they had large rolls of several colors. One was a perfect match for my interior. It was a little pricey - $13 for enough fabric to do the job twice. (Just in case.)

OK, got the job done. Found an upholstery shop that had a bunch of headliner choices. None were perfect but one was pretty close. I did end up having to unscrew that bar referred to earlier to get it to slip in properly behind the sunroof. The material was $14 but the adhesive spray was $17!

Quick question: after you remove the shade from the roof, can you then close the roof window? I thought I read in another thread you werent supposed to do that?
I ask because according to this write up, I could remove the shade and have some time with it out while I get the materials and glue it back.
Is that right, or do I have to do it all at once?

I closed the sunroof and drove around for several days with it out. I didn't see any reason that it could be a problem (and it wasn't for me).
