On my harness the brown does nothing so I got mine connected to the orange but had to move a few wires on harness around first to see which one stays hot even when the car off anyway I have the double din kit for my car but in my car the area where the radio goes is too small for the double din kit but the stereo place told me that's the right piece got a video or anything of how you did yours

is there any other place where i can buy a harness for cheaper then $189 at a stereo store or does anyone know the part number so i can look it up and search for myself cause $190 for a wire harness is freaking crazy and i need it cause my stock radio is not pushing my 15's like they should so i need an aftermarket radio.

i was looking to get an In-Dash and i was gonna get the shop to do it but i was told the Cheap harness would mess up the computer system in the car. Is that true? The guy said i would need the other harness so the steering wheel controls work with the radio head unit. Besides that i already have the cheap wire harness just need that adapter for the radio stations

Cheap harness will not mess anything up if everything connected correctly. You will lose all ur chimes thats about it. for steering wheel controls you need special adapter for ur radio and u need to tap in to the wires in a steering wheel where the switches for volume control connected to.

well in that case i dont use the buttons on the steering wheel anyway to be honest i forget i even have them lol but i will just got with the cheap harness then. Also i misplaced the harness and i know their should be a thread on how to do the harness cause the one i have i had to check which slots where the wires go were hot cause i hooked everything up and radio didnt come on so i actually had to remove the brown wires and put them in a different spot.

Hello everyone. I'm new here. Purchasing a 95 Aurora with Bose and looking to replace the factory receiver. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do so? I'd like to keep the Bose equipment and the dic if possible.

Hello everyone. I'm new here. Purchasing a 95 Aurora with Bose and looking to replace the factory receiver. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do so? I'd like to keep the Bose equipment and the dic if possible. Welcome! The '95 will retain the Date function in the DIC. Unlike the '96-'99. You will however lose fan HVAC controls and stereo controls from the steering wheel. To get HVAC controls working again you basically use the OEM stereo as a slave. Look in the stickies for retaining Date on DIC/Stereo controls or something of the like. For stereo controls you need to get a compatible headunit and a PAC SWI or similar. Some headunits can program themeselves for the buttons as well. Just need to tap the wire. As for the Bose system just make sure you use the amp remote turn on to power the factory amplifier. You just need the standard dash kit and the antenna and harness adapters. I prefer to use metra products.

What wire or wires do you tap into for the steering wheel controls on the 1st gen?I have a 99 and a 2din that has the steering wheel control wires 2 to be exact.. I believe it programs its self(has the option for steering wheel on the 2nd or 3rd screen page)..I don't use them, but it would be nice to have as much back to stock as it was along with my upgrades!!ty for your time!!
