If you have a correction or addition to make to these bulb lists, please post details below. I will edit the original lists accordingly. If you have a question about how to access/change a certain bulb mentioned OR if you want to discuss lighting in some other fashion, please start a new thread. Thanks

A 194 will also fit a 168 place. I just put LED 194 bulbs in my front overhead map lights.

Addition, Classic Aurora has Front Side Marker Lamps that are 194 as well, next to the cornering lamp 3057.
Also not listed, the bulb for the gauges they used a PC194, which is a plastic holder housing with a 194 bulb in it.
Also not listed, the shifter light bulb which is a 73 bulb.

the fog light bulbs are somewhat interchangeable......the 893 bulb does not work well as it will plug in it but it won't "clamp itself down. best to stick with the 880's as its garunteed to be in stock anyways its more of a demand then the 893's

So whats the right bulb # 4 the foglights 893 or 880's?

so what's the difference between the 2? 880 /893

Post by robaurora01 on Jan 9, 2009 15:18:30 GMT -6
the clips that holds it in place, 893 doesn't clip it in but 880 does

a 164 will also fit in the place of a 194 bulb the 164 is slightly bigger and emits more brighteness (recently just replaced a marker light today and noticed that its interchangeable)

two questions, is there really a bulb in the rear side marker on the 2nd gen? and is there really a gear selector bulb on the 2nd gen? two places i can't see evidence of a bulb being there, unless mine are burnt.

hmm, i may need to check that out if i do pull it out and clean the console. another question. do those HID Xenon bulbs i see on Ebay, 9006, 9005, i'm sure they work, but is there any issue with have those HID bulbs running all the time? after all, it seems like my lights are on all the time, or those running lamps come on, which run off the high beam i believe. would Sylvania Silverstars be a better option?

you can turn the lights off for your DRL that runs off the high beam bulb. do not I repeat do not buy the ones from ebay ull be wasting your time and money just buy ones from some auto store that aren't the cheap ones (likes $24 a piece or so is good) but I use to own some HID xenon bulbs from an auto store (just like off ebay) and they absolutly sucked I could barely see and my fog lights would out power them!
buy the GE nighthawks ull love those

thanks for the advice. do they have a better bulb for the foglamps? cuz i barely notice a difference when i turn em on, the back ones are bright, but i only use em cuz i want others to see me. i'd like to get all the lamps changed over eventully to the brightest yet most cost effective alternative.

I use the GE nighthawks for my fogs and I love them, sadly tho its gonna run you up to bout $60 for the pair but they have a year warrenty on them.
remb when replacing any bulb always use a vinyl glove! specially on the new bulb!

oh ya, thanks, i'll remember that, i've done it without. is it because it affects bulb life or something if you touch it with bare hands? do you need to use that electrical grease stuff or whatever it is they say you should use when changing bulbs? i haven't used it and wonder whether it matters. sorry i have soo many questions. lol

the gloves is because the natural sweat/grease on your hands affects the life on the bulb if you touch it, it will kill the bulb much quicker then if you wouldn't of. $1.99 or less for a 10 pack of those gloves seems worth it to me now as for the grease I never heard about using that so I got no opinion on it.
edit: any other question about it might be better to make a new post or just msg me about it as where cloggin up the "bulbs sticky" thread lol

As long as the bulb number is the same, which it is. I don't see why not.

Something that could be helpful is the number of each kind of bulb are needed. Would it be possible to get a break down of how many 194,168,74, ect that both the classic and 2G need
