The valve covers are actually magnesium. I guess technically magnesium doesn't polish. If you take the time to deoxidize the whole thing, high temp clear coat it!
There is quite a bit of casting imperfections. I tried to grind most of them down when I blacked my engine compartment out.

Here is what I ended up with, I painted it black and sanded the fins.

Thanks! It's not as perfect as it looks in the pic, there are many imperfections that I missed while sanding, but it's a lot better than it was. I think it might be easier to have it blasted or cleaned professionally. Phillip, I have a '95 cover I am going to paint, it has the raised areas for the spark plug wires, I don't know if I will use it or not though.

Randy! I picked up a new caddy 4.6 cover at the junk yard last weekend, do you want my old 4.6 cover? Cost of shipping!

I might be in your area in the next couple weeks, maybe I could pick it up in person, if not, I will take it either way. I got your last package, I really appreciate it! I have yet to paint and install the parts.

I have yet to paint and install the parts. No problem, man! Consider it yours. It has a couple scratches, nothing too deep though. I found one in a little better condition so I traded up. if you ended up painting it then that wouldn't matter. But hey, free is free. ;D I'm glad you got the surrounds, they're in surprisingly good condition for a car with 200K on it. The whole interior in the parts car is pretty good. Let me know if/when you're coming to KC and we can meet up. Are you just passing through or will you be here for a while? Is the fam coming with? Sara and I could take you guys to dinner depending on your schedule. If you're driving all the way up here its the least we can do! ;D
