I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this......A Tesla actually out on the street! I didn't think that any of them had been sold. I spotted it in a shopping center in Bedford, NY. One big PITA about it......it turns out that the nearest service place for it is in the Queens section of NYC, at least 50 miles from Bedford.

That is a mean looking car! I love it, now that's an electric car done right. Not that I don't love the Volt as i'd own one if I had money and a garage to charge it in.

A guy I went to college has one. It's a pretty cool looking car! He has to be home by 10 at night though or he won't have enough juice to get to work in the morning. ;D

i knew they have been selling them for a little while. i have never seen one in person, but i really want too. it is one of my favorite 4-door cars. i think the design is near perfect. the range is a lot better than previous all electric cars, but charging takes forever without a supercharger station. still a great car none the less.

but charging takes forever without a supercharger station. With a supercharger station, charging time is 1/2 hour to get to 1/2 charge. www.teslamotors.com/supercharger

Interesting timing...I saw my first one in the wild last week! This was in a small town south of St. Paul, MN on the main drag through town. Nice silver color and a gorgeous car overall.
I had to do a double take because same here - I can't imagine there are many around.

The back with no exhaust tips looks as wierd as our front, with no intake.

Meh, to me that's not the point. I am not worried about emissions at all as I honestly believe the earth is just going through one of it's cyclical changes that does and has happened in the past. The reason I want one is to avoid the pump as honestly most of my trips are 30 miles or less on average.

Well duh lol, I was talking about the monetary aspect and not if your house used solar power haha, although I'm sure that would mean some longer charge times

Charge time would depend on the amount of power avaliable, which depends on the size of the array. If you covered your roof in them I bet you could get a decent charge haha

News item from North Carolina:
State new car dealerships have influenced our legislators to support a bill to prevent Tesla from using its direct sale business model in our state.
No political comment, just a report for your consideration.
