Two guys from New Jersey meet at Englishtown Race Park: What's the first thing two guys from New Jersey do? Compare size, what else? Two guys from New Jersey try to figure out which way to go: Getting late, time to leave: Where are they going? Come'on, these are two guys from New Jersey. Where else are they going? kobalt and Letitroll have ended another day terrorizing peaceful citizens and successfully avoiding law enforcement. All is once again right with the world.

Yes, I had them done at CVS ;D
1 hour photo, excellent service, and the girl there is real cute too.
Post yours as well. Mine are scanned in, then copied over. You should have better resolution.
P.S. For those not there, that's not really the resturant we went to, which we didn't take pictures of. Kobalt, this place was so cool looking I turned around went back to use my last picture on the roll. Right at exit 8 on Hwy 33. A must stop for the next meet.

just remember everytime you go there you not only risk your pictures but brain damage as well from the pungent decaying flesh stench in the pharmacy area

Did you guys run the track there? I figured that was why Kobalt didn't have center caps, in case they wanted them off for the tech inspection, or in case they flew off down the track. Was this the official meet and just no one made it? Or was this like a pre-meet meet?

Right on gents, send me your favourite image to JWRora@gmail.com for some ACNA header pic glory ;D So, where was Omegaic, Rocketman, RocketV8 and Stevensolds? Ok, sending the fav pic to JimW is for you kobalt. As I put mine here, you take the header glory. Aurora40, yes this was sort of the official meet, at least the date of the official meet. Omegaic and Stevensolds notified us they couldn't make it, Rocketman was going to try, and we couldn't contact RocketV8. So we knew it was a bit of a bust beforehand but decided what the hey, lets go for it. kobalt is a super guy and I enjoyed the company immensly. We spent the day talking Aurora and never ran out of subject matter. It was great fun meeting even just one other ACNA member and definately not time wasted. omegaic had called beforehand and was notified there was no tracktime available, one of the factors that reduced the turnout I'm sure. We chalked it up as an enjoyable scouting mission for the Big Meet. (That sounds like a tribute band for Meatloaf) P.S. We also drove each others cars around. I love the 2nd gen in almost every way. Mainly it feels so much lighter and tossable, handles more like a Honda compared to the Classic. Yes it's a firmer ride, but that's a tradeoff for quicker response time. I also like the interior better in every way except one, the seats are MUCH better in the Classic.

What Letitroll98 said - not much to add except for my ride experience in the Classic. Letitroll being a great guy let me drive his pristine autobahn a bit. I think the ride is superior in the Classic, as well as the power. The Classic is a solid built, rattle-free car. The chassis is stiff but very absorbant or uneaven road surfaces providing for a very smooth, stable ride. I believe much the extra weight went into superior interior materials, build quality as well as sound insulation. The engine note was muted during crusing but in a good, luxorious sort a way - the V8 rumble/power was unmistakable for anything else. The firmer steerning steering as well as thicker steering wheel of the 2nd gen was an improvement over the classic. I prefer the 2nd gen instrument cluster and dash, but prefer the Classic's DIC control layout as well as the seats. In all, I want one

I'm curious about the superior ride part. I test drove a '99 Autobahn for a bit on roads I drove everyday in my car. The classic was much softer and floatier. It reminded me of the Buick. However, the chasis is definitely solid (though so is mine). The steering also felt a bit more boosted, not quite as good. Anyway, in shopping for a 2001 4.0 with my dad, it seemed the earlier cars (like June/July 2000 build dates) had a noticeably softer suspension than my car or my dad's 9/00 car do. So I'm wondering if yours has the fairly soft setup. Much of the weight savings, though, is in the powertrain and smaller overall size of the car. I don't believe there is less sound deadening or anything like that, and the chasis is certainly as stiff. And the leather is nicer and there's more wood on the new car. I don't think our interior is inferior to the classic, though I do like the felt material on the A-pillars that we don't get. And the classic has more of a trip computer than the DIC we get. I'm certainly not trying to bash the classic, it's a great car. But it stands to reason that Olds would want to improve on it a bit with the next car.

The build date is 01/00. Perhaps I misstated my ride impression when comparing both cars - I'll try again. I felt the Classic absorbed the bumps better and was more insulated from the road with no squeaks or rattles. It glided over the pavement. The 2nd gen seems to have a much firmer, sporty ride. Because of this, I think the 2nd gens have superior handling and give very little in the corners, comparable to my old beemer.

Yes, the classic definitely soaks up bumps better. I ran over a few potholes on purpose and the '99 went over them very smoothly. My car wouldn't have jarred the passengers, but it definitely would have made a loud "thump".

Quite right, I think we all agree here. Different, not equal, but equvelant. The 2nd Gen is a thoroughly "modern" feeling car. (Hey, there's a name for your 2nd Gen, "Thoroughly Modern Millie", well, perhaps not) Tighter and lighter, feeling much more like an Acura or Audi in theme, if not exact execution. The Classic much more of the old Caddi feel that it was designed to be. A solid highway cruiser with a dash of performance. I like both immensly.
