Looks sharp and kept up very well. My uncle was the same he was GM's chemist from 1932-1967 and only owned Oldsmobiles. Theres a specila feeling in an Oldsmobile that you cant define.

It is flawless (though im not taking credit), with the exception of the garage door scraping the back bumper once (d'oh!). Its only been city driven, an the trips are often short, the front bumper has not one single mark, and the underbody looks factory new. Everytime i fly down to visit i spend hours washing and waxing it, even though theres really nothing to wash off...then i proceed to stare at it. Such beautiful cars

Fine example! Diamond White with alloy wheels? Thats gotta be rare. $5 says its an Autobahn...sunroof.

$5 says its an Autobahn...sunroof. Look for the QQX code on the build sticker. QQX = Autobahn.

I told you ;D The reason I said that is, it seems that 90% of sunroof optioned cars also have the Autobahn. It only makes sense that it came with chromes too. 12 CD changer in the trunk? I'm guessing one CD at a time was enough for gramps

He worked for GM for decades and has always owned Oldsmobiles, he always cycled them every 3 years but stopped at this one for some reason. About 99% of the members on this board can give you the reason ;D Very swell looking. If you love them so much you might want to think about getting your own. You don't want to wait for your grandfather to die just to drive an aurora do you? It probably won't be as nice but you can still enjoy one for a decent price these days.

That is one nice Aurora! I do think the car would look a lot better with the original chrome wheels. That's my own preference.

Yeah, the end of his Olds purchases arent really a mystery to me...though i wouldnt mind if he had picked up a 2nd gen (just so i could see one up close). Hes looked at various Caddies, and Im going to take him to look at the new Lacrosse one of these days, but he still sticks with his Aurora. Funny though, as much as he refuses to let it go he has no idea why i want it so bad. I'll wait to (someday) own that particular one, its a 50/50 between sentiment and desire. I'm glad to have him as my gramps, but even he knows that time keeps on tickin (he keeps telling us to party it up when he kicks it).
