Slick car. Almost looks lowered. Perhaps an optical illusion. Are you aware of any suspension modifications? I was thinking the same thing.

Wow! I just read through this thread. Aurora Rancher, you are one lucky guy. Not only do you have the official Pace car, but your wife supported you in buying it!
Was it expensive, or comparable to a used Aurora of that year? Are you going to pass it along to your kids one day? Do people follow behind you on the highway and not pass you?

NICE pics Jeff. You must have painted them for the year 2000 IRL series. They are also sharp cars. I have a show book from the 2000 INDY 500 that has a picture of each: Intrigue (orange/wht), Alero (yellow/wht), Bravada (green/wht) and Silhouette (blu/wht) that were support vehicles for the year 2000 and are painted similarly to my 2001 Indy Racing League (IRL) Pace Car and it's sister. The book also shows the 2000 Indy 500 Pace Car, a 2001 Aurora. The below pic shows the rear of My 2001 IRL Pace Car This one is the 2000 Indy 500 Pace Car #1 at Indy in May of 2000. This one is the 2000 Indy 500 Pace Car # 2. And this one is the 2000 Indy 500 Pace Car #3 on the auction block of Barrett Jackson in Palm Beach 2004.

I'm a few months behind but, very cool car! Strobes in the corners and all. I was curious, did the '97 IRL's, white, gold, purple make it to the public? I have a model of one.

But I too am curious what such a prestine car could have cost. We all like to know, some people just don't disclose such details. AuroraRancher has such a nice Pace Aurora, that price really is no big deal.

Not to give away what I had paid for my IRL Pace Car, but to entice anyone that may make me an offer, that I couldn't refuse. ;D There is its sister IRL Pace Support Vehicle for sale in the Journey With Olds "JWO", monthly news magazine (July & August Issues). Here is a picture of that vehicle. Here is how it is listed in the JWO Classifieds: "1999 Bravada - IRL Support Vehicle from the GM Collection, vin # 1GHDT13W6X2700001. This is the vehicle that was used on the track at the Indy 500 year 2000. Exterior color scheme is paint not decals. All strobe lights in working order. Leather interior, sunroof, too many options to list. Mileage 7,260. Vehicle is in excellent shape. I am the first individual owner, notice the vin # 0001. Price $35,000. Ken (810) 687-1600, apeterie@comcast.net"

The mileage is low but I would rather buy a newer car with high miles than and older one with low miles. I know this from experience unfortunately.

My pace car I love it! The VIN matches one sold in the 2004 Barrett Jackson palm beach auction. Wish I knew more about the car.
