I noticed there is a nice description for removing a front door panel in the How To section but was wondering if anyone has taken out a rear door panel... If so, can I assume that like the front, there are no screws involved. Thanks in advance to all.

There are screws in the front panels and the rear. I think there are 2 at the bottom of the panel and one behind the clip by the handle.

No, that is wrong. There are not any screws. You can take the door panel off with your bare hands, and I recommend doing just that. I just took my front door panel off two weeks ago as the window motor needed to be "rotated". GM had a whole batch of defective window motors that develop dead spots at the point they regularly stop (in the up position) and need to be unhooked from the regulator and allowed to motor around to a new position and then hooked back up. I have had to do that to I think all four motors at least once and I think the passenger one twice. It also happened to the rear motors on my Tahoe, but I got GM to replace them under warrenty. Plus I had to do the fix-it-yourself repair to the regulator on both front windows. I have had the door panels off a lot of times. It has been a long time since I took the rear off, but I am about 99% sure that it was the same technique. Just be careful pulling the little cup out behind the door opener as it will break if you pull on the wrong side.

Oops, sorry about that. I read it on the last 50 posts and I didn't realize it was in the Second gen section.

Thanks for the advice guys. Now that my project is done--anyone have a line on where to purchase more of those little door panel retainers? As is often the case with me, I snapped off a couple in the process and know that I will have to revisit this door again.

I am sure gm parts direct would have them. I would also check a junk yard. I am surprised you snapped them, I have not had any problems despite several times removing the door. You need to pull straight out and I always use my bare hands so as to appreciate when it feels like something is going to break.
