Just bought some of these due to a slight coolant disappearance over a months period. I'm changing the coolant and wondered were these worth it and should I just add them in the tank or what? I know some say to add it in the lower radiator hose although the GM tech said adding it to the tank would be totally fine. Opinions?

They have been all over the map on where to put them. Lower hose, radiator tank, upper hose... As best I can tell, it doesn't matter (but not in the surge tank) - just put them in and run the engine for at least 15-20 minutes to dissolve them and circulate them. I've used other 'stop leak' products and these are the best and least mess of any I have used, although a little more expensive. I usually put 2 tabs in a car. If I notice it's still consuming some, I put another 1 or 2 in.

Very good advice man, thanks. I guess I'll be putting them in thru the upper hose, and ya say 2 at a time? Golden.

I used 2 pellets and no coolant has disappeared so far installed in the upper radiator hose with no mess either.

Sweet, did you get the "GM" part number from a dealer? So far for me my water pump job seems to have taken care of the leak but I think I would like to do a couple tabs to be sure. I still smell a little coolant but it could have been residual burning off.

Indeed I do have a part number man it is 1#12378254 with the name Cooling System Seal Tabs. They were $6 bucks which I dont think is too bad. Btw they're an all natural vegetable composition and have a cork like consistency, lets hope they do the trick and as for you I'd install them just for piece of mind.

Cool thanks. I do know the part number, I still have all the rad shroud stickers, just wondering if you went to a dealer or on-line?
