Not bad! What is it with Aurora owners and the 300M? Javi, Zach, and now you?!
You know you want a 2G though. ;D It could be the first 2G with dual projectors! ;D ;D

I am looking at 2gs lol I just can't find one worth the cash that these people are asking. I don't know, theres something about the 300m's I guess haha. My neighbor has one that I've ridden in and that I see every day so that could have something to do with it haha.

Two hours wouldn't be a big deal if I knew for sure I was getting the car, but I'm not one to buy a car without looking at it in person, and driving it first. I just don't like the idea of driving two hours and finding out the thing is a piece of crap when I get there. Plus I really am looking for one under 100k. I also don't like the fact that according to the carfax I would become the 6th owner of it if I were to buy it haha

I am inspired to talk to Geico again and let them raise their offer....
I just find out the law says (NADA Pricing Guide Book or other publications approved by the Commissioner, not just any stuff the insurance company claims)
Salvage Motor Vehicle. – Any motor vehicle damaged by collision or other occurrence to the extent that the cost of repairs to the vehicle and rendering the vehicle safe for use on the public streets and highways would exceed seventy‑five percent (75%) of its fair retail market value, whether or not the motor vehicle has been declared a total loss by an insurer. Repairs shall include the cost of parts and labor. Fair market retail values shall be as found in the NADA Pricing Guide Book or other publications approved by the Commissioner.
Gonna talk to the insurance commissioner and see what this is enforced....

Yeah she's gone forever, repairing her would just be too far out of my means, not knowing what kind of damage could have been done to the steering (the wheels were straight but the steering wheel was upside down) and also the fact that I had nowhere to keep her during the process. As of yet I'm still shopping around for another car, and it seems most likely to me I'll be getting another 'rora but we'll see. I've looked at a Bonneville GXP (too much $$$) a Grand Prix GTP (piece of junk) and a Black 01 4.0 'rora (guy said it was flawless and I got there only to discover a side swipe down the side of the car and what was most likely an ISS problem). I'm still waiting on the right one

Hopefully everyone will recover fully.
If it get's totalled , do not accept what the Insurance Company offers. Many people just accept it as that's all they are giving me.
Do yourself a favor and gather as many examples as for sale or sold models as you can and use that to establish a value for your car. I am sure that number is higher than what the Insurance Company will give you. Your settlement number can be negotiated.
I had to do this about 20 years ago and maybe things have changed since but when they offered me $x i countered with it takes $y to be the same car and told them i cant accept $x.
Good luck.

the 300M special is a pretty nice substitute for the aurora in size, luxury and power.

I would have bought one already, if I could find one, they're aren't a whole lot for sale by me and the ones that are are horrible. Like, say, on ebay motors, there are only five.... FIVE listed in the entire world...

Yeah I saw that one, if it was in Illinois I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But at that price, + the $1000 it would cost to ship it, or about $700+ in a plane ticket and gas to fly and drive back from California its just too much for me

Believe me, I'm not slouching on the searching haha, I spend about an hour or two PER DAY looking for Auroras, I saw this one awhile ago, I even made them and offer and also calculated the gas it would take to drive, the price the plane ticket would be, and the shipping quote for it.

Wow, you are not kidding about the lack of Classics listed out there. I was searching Autotrader for anything under 100,000 miles, and there was NOTHING within 200 miles of Chicago. In the 220+ mile range there were a few dealerships with some listings. If you locate an Aurora, it's probably gonna be a lucky find where you spot it for sale in a yard with a sign in the window or something... not something on eBay or another national search database.

It might be cheaper to look into auction cars. You may be able to buy an entire car thats smashed in the rear and get all the parts you need for less than a grand. Just a thought
