Hello all, My ABS warning light has been popping up recently. I'd read a suggestion on a Corvette forum about pulling the ABS fuse until the problem could be sorted out (EBCM/Sensor/Ground procedure). So like a dummy, I pulled the ABS fuse yesterday without removing the battery ground under the seat. Went to start the car to see what showed up on the dash board and whammo, the motor won't turn over. When I turn the ignition key, the symptoms are as follows: - The DIC lights up and says I need to set the date and time- it seems to be working okay
- The anti-theft light comes on but goes off after a moment
- I cannot hear the starter turning at all. No solenoid clicking noise either
- The fuel pump does not run at all
- When I turn the ignition key I hear a slight clicking noise near the battery and a little noise under the dash, but that's it
I've checked a several fuses/relays with the associated systems (under hood and under rear seat) for continuity with my digital multimeter: - Battery tests good with DMM (~12v reading, but no load). She started fine until I pulled my stupido moovo yesterday, so I don't think the battery is at issue here.
- Fuel pump
- Starter breaker/fuses/relay
- Some of the ignition fuses
None of the fuses I checked are open. The relays seem to have good continuity, but I didn't load test them because I'm not sure if they have a diode in them or not. Does anyone have suggestions as to what direction I might need to turn?

Did you try putting that fuse back in & then try to start it? EDIT: Are you sure that you pulled the ABS fuse? In this diagram of the underhood fuse box, #43 & #44 are the fuses for the ABS, depending on which air pump system you have. #41 is the starter circuit breaker.

Just a thought, I've harped about it many times. Check the ground under the under hood fuse box and where it attaches to the motor, bad grounds can manifest themselves in many different ways.

I'm in a real jam here. Per the manual and the underhood schematic, #43 is a 50A Maxi Fuse for the ABS system. That's the one I pulled. I also pulled #44 (AIR PUMP B) (50A). Visually, both fuses appear completely intact. Fuse holder #42 is empty on my car. I did reinsert the fuses and try to start the car- no go. The car started fine up until this point. After the fuse pull, no go. I tested continuity with my DMM on the #41 Maxi Breaker. It tested fine. I didn't see any ABS fuses/relays in the rear fusebox, but here's the schematic from my car (sorry for the reflection):

So, the fuel pump isn't priming with key on and starter solenoid isn't clicking?

So, the fuel pump isn't priming with key on and starter solenoid isn't clicking? Yes, that's correct Sall.

I forgot to mention, when I hook my Actron 9580 (Autoscanner Plus) to OBDII port, it won't communicate with the computer. It did connect without issue before the fuse-pulling incident (that's how I verified what was going on with my ABS system).

Do you get dash lights and chime when you turn the key on? Do all fuses in all four fuse boxes have 12v on both sides with key on?

Good question bobsblue95.
When I turn the key on the following works:
Dash lights and the chime The radio HVAC Turn signal park lamps DIC
The headlights do not appear to work (high beam or low beam).
I haven't checked if I have 12v on each side of the fuse boxes. I only knew about the underhood and rear seat fuse boxes.
Where are the other two located?

well there's two under the back seat, one on the driver's door A-pillar area, and the under hood one.

Weird that the scantool will not connect though! Key on(not accessories) and it won't connect? Check the ALDL fuse, not that this would cause the failure. The other fuse box is probably in the driver side door jamb area.

scan tool won't connect because the PCM isn't powering up maybe?
I had a pin push back on my cable and cause my tool to not connect to the computer.
