Hey i looked thru the stickies and also searched im trying to figure out how or if you can just replace the dash bulbs with white leds. Im not really looking for anything crazy like the rgb led that (i think his name is bob) did i just want to replace some dying bulbs with brighter ones. the link for the led conversion is dead in the stickies so im need a walk thru. How many bulbs would i need any certain type that works better than the other. This would be for a 99 Aurora. It says the stocks are 194. TIA

You need T10 wedge base LEDs with 194 twist lock bases. A 194 base does not simply drop into the factory PC194 base without modification(soldering). You can also solder LEDs leads directly to PCB to circumvent soldering to PC194 base. You will get hot spots unless you do it 'custom'. You will also never get true white without modding the cluster it will have blue hue. I have done blue and white currently have "white" conversion everywhere.

half of my lights are out. Should I "upgrade" to LED or just stick with regular bulbs?

2G cluster is a bit different. There is a write-up for it in the stickies brynbetts.

Ah thanks for the reply i have zero soldering skills, i dont even own a soldering iron. So i guess my best bet would just to keep them stock? I just wanted something brighter, i have some dull spots in mine now. I wouldnt really care if they white or blue. I was hoping there was just a type of led that was PnP.

You'll probably be happier just sticking with new conventional bulbs. It takes five. LEDs in the conventional illumination circuit won't dim properly.

Mine dimmed just fine. I don't use PnP option though anymore but It is not PWM adjustability for sure, but never-the-less they dimmed fine. Theatre dimming now that was an issue for LEDs, but nothing a cap couldn't solve. You need five of these and LED 194 of your choice. No soldering unless you try to re-use factory pc194 base. No soldering until you get into HVAC and door stuff conversion. There are plenty of pictures posted around though of how PnP LEDs look.

Do just get 5 of those adapters and 5 leds and thats it? that would be nice thanks for pointing those out

I believe I read that but you made it sound like no soldering was involved with the conventional lights. They just pop right in and out?
