Something else i was going to add, i lost my volume and seek controls on the steering wheel when i installed the new radio. It was kinda expected but i was wondering if it was possible to make it work?

well only way to fit right u do have to cut some corners or use sand paper to shave some corners from the bezel same issue I had on my intrigue and on my 2g.and to keep the volume controls u have to buy an adapter for ur radio than u can use the controls . here how my install looks aurorah.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Ride&action=display&thread=23211

Thanks .good luck . sometimes by sanding the corners might take some time and patience to make it right.

Yep it doesn't fit right. Part of the reason I don't want to do aftermarket in my newest aurora. In my last one I took as much out of the sides and back of the mounting kit that I could. I also ended up bending back that metal bracket in the dash thats behind the radio. After all of that it finally would stay flush. There's This Page that will show you how to keep the date on your DIC. and your fan controls. Radio controls can be brought back with the help of modules you can find online. They're not too bad to install (I think they actually can control the fan controls too) EDIT I didn't have to modify my bezel at all to make it fit, just the mounting kit and bracket behind the radio

The best kit I used for single DIN was the metra kit. Schosche and a few others were just horrible fitment. There is still some adjusting to be done with the metra kits though. As RCA said, usually it is necessary to loosen the metal support for the unit to have clearance at the faceplate.
If installing a double din unit some wet sanding of the bezel will be necessary. As well as patience. Some people hack 'em... you can tell the ones who took the the time to do it right.
Some double din units just plain fit better too.

There is a bolt you can remove IIRC. Then you can bend it bend it as much as needed. It's been years though.

As for the steering wheel buttons, find a PAC SWI-RC. If you haven't discovered it, yet, installing your aftermarket radio has also disabled your steering wheel A/C-heater controls. This controller restores both sets of buttons. It's on Amazon for under 35 bucks.

Just what Sall said, there's a bolt you can take out and then you can shove it back. I didn't do it this time around, didn't need to. Guess my current h/u doesn't have as much length haha.
