Use the red butt connects that are also made of shrink tubing. Apply heat and shrink unless you want to be able to disconnect someday.

Just a side note for 2G owners: Found out today that if the fogs are activated only...only the fogs will turn on. No front and rear running lights or interior illumination. Remember the two body control modules were bypassed which gets input from the MFS to function all lights appropriately. It doesn't bother me but may others. Took me 30 minutes of head scratching, fuse pulling and FSM diving before the "light bulb" clicked on. Sent from my XT901 using proboards

Right. You would have to turn park lamps on. The fogs are now 'independent'. Wasn't thinking about that one!
Previously the park lamps would have to be on to activate the fogs, correct?

Previously the park lamps would have to be on to activate the fogs, correct? From what I notice, anytime a light source is activated the park lamps come on simultaneously. There are two functions on the MFS: park/lows/auto and fogs/lows. Sent from my XT901 using proboards

*I havent done this mod yet* I'm pretty sure if I were to go start up my car and turn just the fogs on, my running lights and lows would turn on..... If I turn my lights on (lows), then my fogs, then turn my lights off on the MFS (but keep fogs on), my lows/running lights stay on.

Yeah the 2G lighting is set up differently. Classic can't turn on fogs without having park lamps on first. Where as you guys switch fogs on it will automatically switch on the park lamps.
So, the 2Gs mod now is independent fogs while keeping fogs on with highs. Pretty neat if you ask me, two mods in one really.

Hey, just want to make sure, its NOT the orange wire at the corner of the connector, but the orange wire on the 9th pin (middle of connector)?

Yeah, I know. There are 2 pink connectors. The 24 and 32 pin. I just didn't know which orange wire seeing as there are 2. But I went with the OJ wire in the middle of the connector (pin 9). Other thing, I noticed you wrote dark green/white, I know that's what it says in the diagrams, but the only green/white wire I had wasn't too dark. There's definitely a darker green wire (but no white stripe). Anyway, got both orange and green/white wires hooked up.
Went to start the car and it wouldn't turn over. I think I forgot to turn a light off and drained the battery.. fingers crossed its that! CAA on the way!

Well from my post it says 32 pin connector. Thought you had an FSM with pin outs?
Dark green/white wire worked for me! Make sure a ground wire didn't come loose in the IPM or DIM.

That's right, they don't come on with the radio on, they come on with the lights on. I would like to see them without all my lights coming on.

Add the '96-'99 Olds LSS and Eighty-Eight to that list. I've owned two '97 LSS's and the fogs didn't do squat on either of them. I could never tell whether they were on or off from the amount of illumination I was getting on the road in front of me. My '98 and '95 Auroras were only slightly better. I don't think I've ever been annoyed or thought any type of fog light was too bright while driving. Grand prixs and Ford trucks with the fogs on are extremely bright! They dont even put any useable light on the road people just think they look cool!
