Hello, everyone! As you can see, The ACNA has gotten a facelift with the new year. Proboards introduced their new version- Proboards v5- a few months ago. The staff and I held off the update until the beginning of the year because we wanted to play with a demo site to make sure everything switched over smoothly and we could customize/navigate in a way that was similar to our v4 board. This was a mandatory switch, so there isn't any option to go back. All of proboards is running v5 now. Just give it some time, the switch from v3 to v4 was a hard one too! The switch has been made, and yes, it will take some time to get it perfect! The good news is that the new version is coded a lot differently and will expand the functionality of our board. New plugins, a smoother, updated look and feel, etc. Both the polling and SEARCH functions have been improved as well, which is a HUGE plus. Some of our stickies will need to be repaired with this switch as well, and again that will come with time. I copied down all of the relevant thread information before the end of the year in anticipation of this switch, so they will all be back in short order. Please bear with us as the Staff and I play with the design and flow of our new, renovated home to make it perfect for all of us. We are still learning ourselves, so it will take a little time to get right! The back end of the site is entirely different than previous versions (Admin/Mod controls and such). We appreciate your patience. If you have any questions, please feel free to post them here. The staff and I will monitor this thread and find the answers to your questions so that everyone can get to know the new ACNA. Thanks, everyone!

With some quick HTML play I have managed to return the section titles and links gold, similar to the old color. This is by no means the end, but it will hold us for now. There is a whole lot more functionality with this board, It will look great once it's done!

As soon as I saw that they made our link colors blue I thought "I bet Marc is going to say something about that, I'd better get it switched." You did the same the last time I tried to play with colors haha, This time it wasn't my fault. Back to the old tride and true gray/gold scheme!

Yep, that's in the plan for sure. I'm going to make an entirely new banner for us I think, one that has the silhouette in it. That's just the default banner now with the color changed. Everything is more integrated now which I like (font size, attachments, etc. It's all better) in addition to a better layout for moderating functions. You can "like" posts now too, did you notice that? I just liked Lathan's post.

Changed to a high contrast scheme. Much easier to distinguish between posts. Any comments welcome as to whether this is preferable to the basic black that was the previous color scheme.

i personally liked the darker theme, but thats just me. if we keep this theme, mind if i ask for a dark color for the thread and section titles. i really dont like the orange color on white background.

Ahh white too hard on the eyes IMO. If you stick with this can you not add another theme for us to choose manually in our profile?

Same here sall (rockin' the old avatar!). I often check in at night and I hate spots in my eyes after looking away. I always liked the black. Made the site distinguishable. This looks kinda ordinary. The gold text is a bit hard to read against white too.
Edit: Also, where did the newest threads link go? Really miss that!

OK. Have added some different themes. You can select your choice by going to your profile, then edit profile, then settings. I wasn't able to find the black one again, but will keep looking.

The recent thread link is still there where it normally is, you can just click "recent threads" or "recent posts"!

Wasn't finished with it yet. try the black one now. Done playing for tonight.
To change the theme you see, go to your profile, edit profile, go to settings tab, change forum theme in drop down box and save.

xjsman89: I meant a button in the bar near the top of the page under the banner.
oldwino: Nice work thanks! I'm totally liking the dark blue too. The new black isn't as dark as the previous and there's not enough contrast between the background and the text for easy reading.
Overall with all these new options and neat layout, I'm definitely liking it better!
Thanks to all the Admins for their efforts to gather our opinions and making this a better forum!

LOL! I was fine with the way it was this morning(white and gold on black background). Progress means change I guess, so I'll adapt.
The ultra-generic banner should be first priority!

Hmm, I liked how it was yesterday (kind of looking like the old one) Is there a way to get that back? The black doesn't look quite right. I guess its Dark Blue for now..

Unfortunately I saved over the original black scheme. i darkened it some. Let me know if it needs more tweaking.

Black looks "ok" my only problem is the color of the text in the "quote" box and the "post quick reply box" is kind of hard to distinguish.

[I just want to put out a thank you to the guys doing the work maintaining the web page. I am sure it is a lot of work and although I normally do not like changes this is for the better. The search is easier to use and the postings have more info. Great job!!! Rich

I miss the members' locations that used to be near the post count under their avatar.

You know, I didn't notice that was gone until you said that. Huh. Go figure.
I'm going to be able to get to the site this weekend and do some updating. Any more thoughts now that we have been using the new look for a couple weeks?

I still can't stand the site theme unless I log in every time to use the Dark theme I selected in profile settings. A lot of stickies/links still broken.
It may just be me but it seems board activity has dropped since the upgrade.
