I simply couldn't believe my eyes when I read the below article about the punishment of a drunk driver.....he has to WEAR AN IGNITION INTERLOCK!!!!!! The paper that printed that, the Journal News, based in White Plains, NY, is infamous for all kinds of typos & misstatements, but this is the most ridiculous one I have ever seen them do in the almost 57 years that I have been reading that paper, either in print or online now............. CARMEL – A Pawling man convicted of driving while intoxicated for a fourth time was sentenced to a year in prison and five years probation, officials said Friday. Rony A. Ramirez-Esquivel, 33, whose latest arrest came Oct. 3 after he was found passed out behind the wheel and parked in the travel lane with hazard lights on, was sentenced Tuesday. His blood alcohol content was .18, or more than twice the legal limit, officials said. Ramirez-Esquivel had three prior drunk driving convictions in three different counties — 2002 in Putnam, 2003 in Westchester and 2004 in Dutchess, officials said. As part of his sentence, Ramirez-Esquivel must wear a mandatory ignition interlock device that will help prevent him from driving drunk again. www.lohud.com/story/news/local/westchester/2014/03/28/pawling-man-dwi-prison/7039287/
