GM wants $300 for the AC line that I need. It has a small port on it for an electrical sensor hook up which is leaking. Has anyone ever tried soldiering a aluminum AC line and been successful?

From what I've been reading, it's not easy to repair AC lines by soldiering. It's probably even harder to do it around that little port that's leaking. I'll most likely get a new one. I have the GM part number (#25736714), I'll have to check around and see if I can find it cheaper somewhere.

Soldering aluminum is not easy. It's better to get a new line.

It wouldn't be soldered, but yes it can be repaired and easily by someone with the right equipment.
Is it leaking where the port is attached to the line?

And another thing: I am not sure whether soldering would stand up to A/C system pressures, even on the low side.
