Hello my new friends, let me first say a huge THANK YOU for having this forum. Since I bought my 01 Aurora girl over 1 year ago, you have been a HUGE asset and I appreciate all you do. Before I invest in a new PCM (Yea, YEAH...) I wanted to everything by you all to see if you have any opinions.
SO on the way back home a couple weeks ago I get a Charge System message and my charging system saw itself dropping right below 11.3 volts. Not really a big deal, car has right around 100,000 miles on it so normal maintenance to me. So the next day I charge the battery up and head to Advance to make sure. Diagnosis is that the output is low, they wont say it is the alternator but that it is charging low. I have already checked the Ground Wire from the alternator, so I am pretty confident and I get one to go. Well as a precaution I ask them to charge my battery for the road so I can make it back home, and somehow a loose connection melts the negative battery port on the battery internally so I have to get a new battery. With new battery in tow I am heading home, and stop to get some gas. Well I come back outside and the car has a Hard Start problem and takes 5 mins to get started... Well not a big deal, only going home anyway so I pull in the driveway ready to install the new alternator in the morning.
Well the next morning as I was trying to drive the car up on the ramps I have to get the alternator out (All excited about getting the radiator out also...) and the car will not run. Same Hard Start but this time she wont just wont kick on. I just got my Scan Tool in yesterday and it is giving me P0335 P0340 P0385 P0601. Now several months ago I replaced the Cam and Crank Sensors, along with the Map when diagnosing another problem (Turned out to be a broken boot that was causing a vacuum leak), so I am pretty confident that the P0335 P0340 P0385 have to do with the Hard Start itself. However there are only a few reasons that P0601 will pop up, but one of them is a low voltage detection... the other though is that the alternator and the battery problem may have actually burnt the PCM out. SO.... Opinions ?
