Anyone here have any experience with laser tag systems (home use)? I'm interested in buying a set for my son's birthday... he will be 10. From a quick look at ebay, I see there are a wide range of products/prices/sets ranging from $50 to over $600! I don't know anything about the technology, or which ones would be worth spending more money on. Any tips appreciated!

Well, most laser tag systems use infrared(IR). It's safe and fairly accurate(somewhat price dependent). I wouldn't buy the cheapest one, but I wouldn't go high end either. Remember when he played with the box more than the gift inside it?, lol! If he does get into it, upgrade later. Have fun!

Yeah I don't want to go totally cheap. I know some infrared stuff doesn't work well outside (sunlight interferes with it) or doesn't have a good range. I'd want both of those features in a laser tag set.
