Hi guys, I bought an '01 4.0 like a month and a half ago and sometimes when I shift into drive, it goes in pretty harsh/hard. The car only has 86,500 on it. I know that really doesn't make that much difference, anything can go wrong at any mileage. Half the time the shift into Drive seems pretty smooth. I need to have the fluid replaced. Does anyone else have this problem? If it is a problem. Should I go with Synthetic Transmission Fluid on the service? Any ideas I do appreciate. Thanks

Sounds like a front motor mount.

^Yep, very common, worth a peek.
DEX-VI on your trans fluid change, IMO.

Front or trans mount . But i never had a very smooth switch btwn P R and D in Aurora i think cuz the way engine is mounted I never had and issue like that on Intrigues and i think because there was mount on top of the engine that helped . On aurora you always will feel it just a lil or hear it.
