So I did my accessory tensioner, pulley, and belt over the weekend. Good times! (Thanks to tipsy for the detailed write-up.) The issue - so after all that work, I've now got a rattle when transitioning from gas to idle. For example, when coming off the gas for a red light. I can hear it in the car (pass. side) but not much comes through under the hood. Also happens when moving the wheel left to right in the garage with the pwr steering under load. I'll have to get the stethoscope out but it's a weird one. Best I can figure is maybe the AC Delco Pro tensioner was bad out of the box? It seems to happen when RPMs change. Anyone else experience this? Thoughts?

I dug into this tonight...I'm pretty sure the noise is actually coming from the pass. motor mount (the one you have to undo to get to the tensioner). If I yank on the engine lift hook by the belt, the mount makes a creaking/grating noise. I tightened the bolt but the noise remains.
Tensioner appears good, no noises there when using the stethoscope and it's doing what it should with no sloppy movement.
I know the mount is pretty much "unobtainium" so I'm going to have to explore other options I guess.

Thanks for the update. I like noting what worked for everyone because oneday it may well be me.
Let us know how this motor mount goes. At least it isn't headlights which are unavailable on my Lincoln.

Are motormounts difficult to get? I was thinking about a swap with a 4.6L and this makes me worry.

The only one NLA is the Torque-axis mount. It can be reloaded like this... aurorah.proboards.com/post/282309/threadCan almost gaurentee 3/4 of you guys are running around with bad motor/trans mounts all the way around.

New is definitely NLA and no one makes an aftermarket part. I've emailed around and come up with nothing (one place did claim "under development"). I love the reloading idea but don't trust my welding skills so would have to farm that out. I will have to find another mount to go this route though, so I can drive my car in the meantime.
As a side note, I did learn that the Bonneville insert is available separately - DEA Products #A2801in
What's interesting is the noise has quieted waaay down. Still there but very quiet now, esp. after a hard stop I had to make yesterday after someone pulled out in front of me. Almost like it had to break in again. But either way, it won't heal itself and the rubber part looked a little worse than the one in Sall's thread (great info & pics btw).
