Notice a hissing noise on passenger side of my engine. Figuring it is a vacuum leak, i started spraying starting fluid and found its coming from a hole is side of intake manifold. It has a valve looking thing in it. I also found a nipple close to it that has a plug on it. Please help me figure this out. Would post pics but not sure how on my phone

Thanks you so much dude. My dad is a Mitsubishi tech and neither of us has fooled with northstars and have never seen thus. Mine is stuck open so now time to try and find the part @ rockauto or dealer

Omg. Please help. I cant find this at any stores, ebay, rockauto, or even dealership. Any idea where i could buy a new one?? Im about to just try to glue it shut or junk the whole car, I love this car but sick of discontinued parts. Is there any way of fixing this properly, its stuck open and hard to start and runs like crap.

IAC Valve on eBayIf you're truly looking to junk the car, I'll take it off of your hands. The internet is a great place for stuff like this, a lot of places have old stock and sell it cheap. I have found many parts online that they don't have in stores. This was a two second search on eBay.

Haha no it's the anti-backfire valve not an idle air control valve...
Did you have the dealer do a nationwide search? With sheer volume of 4.0L and 4.6L 'N*' out there there should be one somewhere. Otherwise you are looking at new/used intake manifold or sealing the current one where it does not leak but no longer does it's job!

Gotcha. Wrong part then haha. I'm sure you could yank one from a junkyard car fairly cheaply as well. Wouldn't be new, but that would be better than gluing it shut at least!

I keep extra bearings handy in case I can't fix it with a hammer

Why not just replace the o-ring?
