Hey guys, a few days back i was sitting at a red light and i happened to look at my battery voltage on my information center, and it read 13.8 volts then went back up the 14.4 volts. When I got the car I had to put an alternator in it, and ever since it always ran at 14.7 volts. the past few days I have left it on the voltage readout and watched it while driving, and for the most part it sits at 14.4-14.7 volts until I brake or am idling it will randomly go down to 13.2-13.5 volts and then go back up to 14.4-14.7 volts after like a second or two. I was just wondering is this normal for the '95s? I took it to autozone and they said the battery starter and alternator were testing ok, and it was even doing the lower voltage with the machine hooked to my battery. It might not be a big deal, but it only started a few days ago to my knowledge, and I was always told if something changes on its own on a car, it usually isnt a good thing.

Sounds normal to me.
My '97 does something similar, and pretty much always has. It has a newer GM alternator and the battery in my car is ~1 year old. When you brake you're adding the brake lights to the power load, plus at idle your alternator is putting out a lower charge than even at say 1500 rpm (as you might see when you're going down the road). So, you should see the voltage drop when you come to a stop. The fact it rebounds after a second or two seems to just be the car reacting.
I've noticed if I run the A/C it will also have an impact as the compressor cycles, and if I turn on the rear defrost it really brings it down for a split second.

Thank you for the response! I did just replace the IAC motor, because i was idling at 2k RPM. so it makes sense it would be different now.
