Go back and search for the real write up I had posted. Come think of it, this one should not been a sticky. My had the complete instruction on "How To". X2 It doesn't explain how to make the lens clear. It just explains how to change it. Unsticky!!

'Shroom does indeed tell how he made them "clear" on page 1.

Oops. I missed that part. Oldsnuts sweet Final 500 Alero made me miss it! Doesn't sound very easy.

Here's the full write I just did for someone who PM'ed me.
If enough people are interest, I would definitely consider making another group of clear lenses for sale. I am currently making one set, and more would just be a matter of finding more lamps. PM me if interested.

I'm going to go get the materials to do this, and here's the list that I came up with. Could someone confirm this, please?
Dremel with ceramic bits (specific type of bit?) box cutter/razor blades low grit sandpaper small piece of diffuser panel silicone/RTV sealant/clear epoxy amber replacement bulb, of course.
will this do it, or is there anything else I need? thanks for the help!

you forgot squeezeable ball for stress, a hammer (you always need a hammer no matter what your putting/taking something off), a 2x4, a book of swear words in other languages, and last but not least a camera for the final apperence.

Thanks, 95mushroom, that's a great writeup. I never thought I could do something like that until after I read it. I followed the directions from your first writeup, and the second one describes it perfectly. Make sure you wear safety glasses if you are doing this, I had the disc explode a couple of times. And watch your cutting angle, I got into the lens so you need to watch out for that. That smell is horrible I could smell it for a couple days. Other than that it went great. I sacrificed a couple lenses so I could match the look. I also had to cut down some tabs on the light assembly to fit the lens properly. They are going in my silver Aurora. This pic is before I sanded and cleaned them up. After another layer of silicone and some Plast-x they will be done. I used clear silicone to seal it together.

I'll get some better pics when I get them on the car, but here's on that I took with my phone right after I got the glue on the first one drying. Not quite as fancy as Randy's job, but not to shabby if I do say so myself!

Looks great Collins! Now paint that metal bracket! Looks Great against the Dark color car!!! Great Job!! Now fix that curb finder!! Oh and Nice mustang you parked next to!! I got a new curb finder at the junkyard, so it definitely looks better now! the black has faded a little bit more than mine, but definitely an improvement! Contrary to what I told Lance earlier, that mustang runs an 11.37 second quarter, it belongs to one of my friends from Jayhawk Motorsports. (He also has an 08 WRX STI and a 3rd gen RX-7 lol... gotta love kids who spend all their money on cars!) what happened to your center cap? I was getting ready to go drive at an autocross the next day and they needed to be able to see the lugs, so I just left my caps off. (autocross details on another thread!) I think Lance is going to get a set, and I was just going to use my old lenses... If you want a set let me know! If you can get a set of lenses to me I'll whip em up for ya!(That goes for everyone, not just kay! lol)

Looks great! The clears look phenomenal on darker colored cars. I see someone like the $4.44 Wally-world baggie of spring clamps too!

I thought this might make the cutting easier. I haven't tried it out yet.

Looks like it might work, but wouldn't it make the plastic run a little bit? You'll have to test it out and see. Keep us updated!
