I replaced the water crossover gaskets on my 95 model. Very difficult. I had issues with the metal heater pipe that goes into the quick connect fitting in the rear of the crossover. I had bought a new Dorman fitting but the section of the metal hater pipe that seals on the o-ring was rusted badly. I cut a half inch off the pipe and TIG welded a new section made on lathe to repair it. My question is : Is this heater pipe discontinued or available? It would be hard to find a good one at the salvage yard.

Too bad they didn’t make it out of stainless steel. Did not see a picture, but part is available GM 25671310 for $48.

Yeah, I wish a lot more of the cooling system parts were made of stainless, lol... Just a heads up, my info says GM 25671310 is only for DeVille/Seville/Eldo. #5 below... '95-'96 Olds Aurora is listed as GM 03542389. #4 below...

Thanks for the clarification on the part number. I searched the Aurora number and one place had it new for the low price of $234 dollars. Not sure if it is available at the dealer. Interesting that the 97 and up is different. Do you have a illustration of the 1997 arrangement?

'97-'99 Heater Inlet Pipe. #3 below, GM 25642181. '01-'03 Heater Inlet Pipe. #2 below, GM 25688616. FWIW, the connector, GM 25689629, was used on ALL 4.0s '95-'03, lol!

That covers it. These pipes should be in good condition at the sealing surface. Not something you would want to see leaking after assembling car for sure. With the age of these cars now seems this would be a common problem now.
