I just received all 3 of the official mfg Service manuals. There's a lot of abreviations that are confusing but there's a good glossary.
What is the Scan tool? Is this the same as a normal code reader or something special for the Olds?
Thanks for the help. This is a great site for Aurora owners and I'm glad I found it.

The GM Tech 2 (or Tech II) Diagnostic Scan Tool.
It's a GM specific scan tool used by the mechanics at your local GM dealership.

So it looks like it's about $!50. or over #1.000. on EBay. I wonder if the cheaper one will work? What does everyone else do for troubleshooting?
I drove it yesterday and got new tires and while driving the info center showed 10.7 to 11.6 V then the A/C shut off and it listed a power saver mode?
I checked battery V today and it was at 11.4 so I put it on the charger.

A cheaper one will do in most situations. Some read abs codes, some don't. Decide how much of an investment you want to make.
Your voltage problem has me thinking alternator. Still should test things though.
Look for bad wires, corroded terminals at the battery and alternator. Don't forget the grounds.
I suppose there is a chance the battery is toast. Take it out, have some auto parts store and have it tested.
If that passes drive your car up there and have the alternator tested. If you buy a new alternator, have it bench tested before you install it. Trust me.
There are a couple odd possibilities of contributing pieces. I have never had to fool with them so I'll leave that to others.

Hey paul do you have a part number or a listing where you got yours from? Some are really sketchy and I would trust that one like yours would be good to get.
