My '98 4.0 is doing something i don't quite understand...
I can drive it no problem with a/c on, or in cruise without a/c, but when cruise is active with the a/c on it will "surge" or "stutter" - not sure how to describe it.
It's almost as if you tapped the brake for a second. It doesn't lose speed, but there's a noticeable drop in power i guess.
It's really hard to explain and the mechanic at the dealership couldn't find anything wrong with it.
A/c is fully charged and everything works fine unless those two things are active.
It doesn't even happen in regular intervals, it's completely random.
I can drive for two hours without it happening and another time it'll happen 4 times within 30 minutes.
Any ideas on what could cause this?
