As you can see here there is brass or bronze mixed in the steel in the same spot on both rear pillars!

That's one of spots that crinkles up when these cars get rear ended. Looks like body work.

Well it's obviously some kind of repair but according to carfax this car has never been wrecked. Furthermore these places are underneath the factory primer just like the hole in the hood was! Sure it could have been wrecked and never reported but at this point I'm more inclined to believe it left the factory like this.

I am not sure but the factory has to blend in the welded on rear fender with the roof structure, so this may be how it is on all Aurora's. On the 1st gen cars that rail going over the windows the frame acted as the outer skin. Rich in Buffalo

I think the bronze was factory . Lead was the premier filler metal for years, outlawed by EPA . If it was after the fact bodywork, plastic filler would have covered the MIG welds
