Congratulations on your new purchase! I hope it serves you well. When you get a chance, you'll have to tell us members more about it and a couple more photos. We're glad you'll be staying in the club.

The car has some issues, some of which I will be starting threads about. I will post some photos before I clean it... and boy does she need to be cleaned..... nasty previous owners. And then I will post some afters. I have a nikon d3500 and that will give me some great fidelity shots.

I did notice that you got a sunroof again though Wasnt excited about the sunroof.. but a little more headroom. It doesnt leak air or water. And the drains arent plugged. Yet. And I do like this car. But it's a 99 which is why I said dont laugh. Hope I never have to do the control arm

As far as I know they're same as '98 and don't look to be anything rough to deal with (they're available for purchase). '95-'97's are where the difficulties are. They switch mounting points in '98 and switch from cast iron to aluminum at the start of '97.

Yeah '97 was the "hybrid" year for control arms. Old layout, new material. No one seems to make a replacement, or even bushings...

Letters should be available on ebay. You have the phone! If that's from the actual car I think it's a rare option. I know a ton about the classic Auroras so any questions just ask!

The $20 block heater couldn't have been a free option? C'mon GM, haha!
Cool that you have the original sticker though.
Looks like she just needs a little TLC, have fun!

Congratulations!
It looks like my car, except I have the gold trim package & mine came with a spoiler... Your sicker lists "gold graphics," but it doesn't look to have the gold trim. (Maybe it has flaked?) Yours does look to have more of the options, however. Of the Auroras I have seen listed for sale, a high percentage have been white or white diamond. I'm not sure about the interiors or packages, however.
I don't know what you spent, but I probably would have been happy to find it, for a good price. I see fewer of these, all the time, & had to drive 4 hours to get my parts car from lanceslambos.
The original point-of-sale is Eau Claire, so watch out for rust. I got an amazing amount of dirt & crud out of the area around the fuel fill and the seals around the trunk. (My car spent it's first 11 years in Arkansas --Carfax is pretty cool.)

The Aurora letters on my trunk have faded from gold to chrome, but the Aurora emblem on the hood stayed gold. Makes no sense to me . The gold has not faded, on mine --but oddly, I have what seems to me like "a pattern" of flaking paint in three of the four corners of the roof. I wonder if GM dealers may have used different stock for the gold? (Maybe a touch of gold spray, on a chrome one, when they needed just one more "Aurora?") I can see why a horizontal application (i.e.: hood) might weather & fade. To have the trunklid one do it, seems wierd. I am familiar enough with the area mine was sold into, that I'm fixated on the idea that it spent a lot of it's time parked under an Arkansas carport, where only one corner of the roof was protected all/most of the time. (Summer sun Arkansas can be pretty hot/intense.) ...but there's no flaking on the trunk lid, at all, so that's probably just the earliest, clearest indicator of my future mental deterioration. If I ever de-badge, or my emblems fall off, I will probably offer my gold up for the asking +cost of shipping. The color is not to my taste & I would never have given a dealer a dime extra for it. I am slowly doing my paint touch-up, limited by temperature & humidity. I had small areas, around the hood, which are done. One of the spots on the roof is ready for pearl & cc. The two rear spots, I uncovered/opened up more flaking, so I am almost back to square-one. As for "making sense," my paranoia tells me that automakers are delighted to have things last 15 years. Past that, they don't care. We are someone else's customer, at that point.

The original POS being Eau Claire for me is great because thats very near me. Also you must be familiar with Wisconsin then haha. It has no external rust that I can tell besides a small bit in a fender well. When I jacked it up, the fuel lines are fine but its gonna need brake lines(and odly one spot is rusty under the car. Im gonna clean that up)

Im gonna clean that up) I know you are joking, but my grandparents retired to Jim Falls --spent about 10 years there, then a couple in Eau Claire. There's a lot of postcard-perfect countyside, in that area. (I also have family around the Twin Cities, which may be why they moved over there.) I live in Southern Iowa. I'm actually roughly half-way between where lanceslambos is (the Ozarks) and you are. Here and all around the Great Lakes, they love their road-salt, in the winter. I forget who, but one of the members said something like: "they like to salt the roads, like they put gravy on their food." If time & money were no object, you would probably want to go looking for an Aurora (or any particular car, you have to have a specific model) in California, New Mexico, Arizona, or Nevada ---that has been licensed there, it's whole life. ...You seem to be a pretty sharp cookie, though. I'm sure you have been told these last 2 points, if you hadn't figured them out all on your own.
