To me, these computers seem to be uber-sensitive. I have had to do a reset every time I... changed the PCV valve, for example.
Problem is, it's easy to think you have done a reset, when you have not.
Remove the red battery cable (under the back seat - just lift it up in the right corner by the door. I use what used to be a metal handle, for a flower pot. It hooks the terminal still connected and the red cable and holds them firmly. I minute is the usual figure to drain the capacitors in the computer, shutting down the RAM and triggering an "initial load" from the prom on the computer board. Then your computer gets a fresh start - forgetting everything it has... "learned" about your motor.
How do you tell if you actually did it? Simple - your digital display will ask you to verify the date when you start the motor. If it does not you failed to make a good connection between the battery cables and/or did not maintain that connection over enough time.
WARNING - Connect the positive and negative battery cables ONLY while one (or both) of them is/are removed from the battery !!!!

Having to reset your computer when changing a PCV valve seems extreme.... have you been having other issues with your computer?
