Girlfriends son just got a 01 Aurora it’s been a ok car until today. He let the battery totally discharge and now when you go to start the car no dash lights come on and no noise coming from starter. I can hear the fuel pump prime but other than that absolutely nothing. My initial thought was probably neutral safety switch but I assume dash lights should come on also. Another odd thing is the power windows won’t work as well.
Doing a little searching cps come up and also replacing the key switch.
I know very little about these cars is there a sign that pinpoints what the exact prob is? It started just fine a week ago

Check the battery voltage at the terminals with a multimeter. If it's not 12.6V, take it to the parts store and have it charged AND load tested. Replace if necessary.
Crank/cam sensor and ignition switch issues (as well as PK3 security issues) can cause a no start, but everything else (dash lights, windows, radio, etc) should work...

You say he let the battery totally discharge. How did this happen? I can only assume you jump-started or re-charged it? In any case, symptoms sound like a bad battery so if you replaced it already I'd get another one, and if you haven't replaced it that would be my first move.
