I am researching the various Indy 500 Pace Cars/Replica and Festival Cars. 100 Auroras were sent to the track to be used as Festival Cars-50 with a neutral interior, 50 with graphite. Except for the "Build Week" RPO and interior color they were all exactly the same. After the race they were sent to the various Indianapolis Olds dealers, stripped of the decals and sold. (I did an AutoCheck on all 100 VINs and sadly 43 are confirmed scrapped, and only 6 have been registered in the last two years so the others may be gone as well). There appears to be two different decals-the "Indy 1997 Shield" and a "checkerboard stripe" and just the shield. Does anyone know how many got the stripe? Usually three cars were also prepped to be actual Pace Cars. These usually have yellow strobes for instance. Does anyone have the VINs for these actual Pace Cars? The winner fo the race was awarded Festival Car #33 last 5 of the VIN 17457. Last registered in Peoria IL in 12013. Does it still exist? There was also a "convertible" Aurora, similar to the 50s Nash/Rambler convert where the roof is removed but the side pillars remain. Does anyone have any info on this car? (VIN, whereabouts, etc?). Thanks for the help.

Besides the 100 Auroras, there were also 9 LSS Support vehicles, 20 SILHOUETTEs, 8 Bravadas, 20 Cutlasses, 9 S10 pick ups.
I also have completed the complete 200 Aurora list-looking for any lists of VINs, assignments, etc, for the 2001 Bravadas. Thanks

Sorry I can't provide you with any new information in your research effort, but your posts/pictures have definitely piqued my interest... Had no idea there was ever a "roofless" Aurora!

Yep, the "convertible" Aurora is also new to me as well! Sorry I don't know if you are going to find the information you are looking for here. Aurora Rancher may know a little bit but I'm not even sure of that. On top of that, looks like he hasn't been on here since the beginning of 2017.

Your best bet is either to contact the Oldsmobile club or the R E Olds Museum in Lansing, Michigan. That is all the sources we have any more. I know there has been a couple at the Olds car shows in the last few years but thats all I really know of. Also the convertible is my first to hear of as well.
