Hmmm --- if I read all posts on the second page I would have not asked the question about sensor changing difficulty. Looks like I should be able to handle it.

I've had the fuel pump, spark plug wires, fuel filter and crank sensors replaced and am still having problems with my 97 Aurora stalling. It seems to happen when the car is coasting or during rapid deceleration. The check engine light does not come on.
The dealer is stumped, the only code they can get out of the computer is that the car has stalled (dah!!). There are no other codes to indicate what the problem might be.
What should I try next? (my wife is suggesting we try a new Bonneville!)

Virgil,
Dumb question-------did you replace the fuel pressure regulator yet? Beyond that, I would have guessed the fuel pump as well - had it happen on a Grand Am years ago.

Nikos,
No, it was the crank sensors. Problem solved.

Question for you,
Any chance you can tell me what the GM part numbers are for the upper and lower crank sensors for the 2001 4.0? I need to replace mine, and having trouble finding the part numbers. Let me know what you can.
Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply, but I do not remember the part#'s I assume you are attempting to buy these online? I got mine from a parts store that carries GM\Delco parts & delivers them to my brother in laws shop.
