*shrug* Thought I'd try and be different So, for a while I've been looking for this site. Not this site specifically, because I just found it today... but yeah a site with info on the Aurora. We've had our 98 Aurora for exactly one year now... I don't particulary like it... but it's a vehicle that gets us from point A to point B. "We" are Jamie & Donovan... it's his car, my car is a 99 Grand Am GT, which has a blown head gasket we're trying to fix to trade the car in But we're from Seattle, and most likely, it'll always just be me posting, not Donovan. Mostly came to this site to see if there were instructions on how to do things on it - we're changing plugs & wires today... and in the middle of a road trip to California... we had to change a light bulb... yeah... that was... interesting. Anyways, already found how to do the plugs, so now I just need to get out there and do it. Anyways, hi everyone

Hi, Jamie and Donovan - Welcome! If it's Aurora info you want, this is the right place. Good luck finding the motivation to actually apply what you've learned . I'm sorry to hear you don't like your Aurora...maybe hanging out here will give you a different perspective.

The GAGT is a bit of a different beast. What is it about the Aurora you do not like?

Meh... she needs a lot of minor work. The windows don't roll down, the driver's seat won't move unless the car is off, or the headlights/interior lights are off, the passanger mirror sometimes points at the sky, it's missing a center cap on one of the rims, it needs to be re-tinted, thanks to his dad's small dogs (we traded his dad our truck for the Aurora), it needs to be cleaned, BADLY, it needs knobs for the heat controls and one of the seat controls... yeah lots of small things. Some of which I've found the answers on fixing - here It's not my car, otherwise all those things probably would have been fixed by now. The GAGT was my baby, since it was the first "nice" car I'd owned. She got washed weekly, or in the summer, whenever I'd start to see dust, and the interior was kept clean as well (A friend of mine actually asked me why my car was clean every time he saw it lol) And I'd just started adding small mods to her. I'd probably like the Aurora once everything's in working order, and CLEAN... my bf doesn't exactly clean up after himself, and I believe he's an adult and can clean his OWN car However, since I blew the head gasket on the GA, we're sharing the Aurora... I may start to fix things up to my preferences. The GAGT... yes, very different - We're still debating on getting it fixed or trading it in for something newer.

Glad you found us. That 98 Aurora has been waiting for someone like you who wants to bring it back up to snuff so to speak. Sounds like mostly minor fixes. Happy motoring and come back and visit.

Welcome to the site! We have something in common! I own a 2001 Aurora, and my fiance owns a 2003 Grans AM GT1. I may be able to help you with both issues you are having with the cars! I'm going to guess you're all ready a member of www.grandamgt.com. Didn't know they had penguins in Seattle, let alone rabbid ones!
