Ok does anybody have a service manual or anything that has the specs for our cams (for the 4.0 of course)? I'm trying to look into getting larger cams for the aurora, but larger than what? If anybody can help it will be greatly appreciated. I read somewhere on some lost forum that someone had cam blanks made for their aurora with some special specs he thought up and gained somewhere around 15ftlbs of torque and like 10hp all dynoed before and after. it was all kept secret but hey if anyone knows about the specs share the wealth!! ;D

All 4.0 cams have 236* duration on the intake, and 242* on the exhaust. This is measured with the lifter on the cam base. 1995/99 has a lift of .340 on both intake and exhaust. 2001/03 4.0s have rocker arms which increase the lift to .3937 on the intake, and .4134 on the exhaust. The camshaft from the 300 hp Northstar engine will fit the Aurora, and has 265* duration. The lift is the same as the 2001/03 4.0. But if you put this cam into the 4.0, it will actually kill power below 5600 rpm. Above that, it'll increase hp. ________________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

Basterds.....I got some of this info from an article in the February 2000 Car Craft about cams for the Aurora & Northstar V-8s. I got the rest from the 2001 Aurora shop manual. ______________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!
