it's an air FILTER. not an air dirter letter inner.. Yes it is indeed a filter. You desearve a pat on the back for a job well done. A filter will never filter 100% of anything. Just like when you filter water, you get 99.999999999% pure water. Therefore there will be some air let through the "pores" of a K&N just as some dirt is let through stock paper filters. The oil plays the part of a sponge and "traps" as much dirt as it can. Some of that dirt inevitable gets passed into the engine.

In cleaning or "recharging" the K&N filters, do you need the special kit sold by K&N? Or can some other method & type of oil be used?

I recommend the K&N kit because you're guarantted you have the right stuff to recondition the filter with. But please take care and DO NOT over/under oil the filter - just enough. Doing either can make for serious consequences.

what? that radeon guy was banned. i had no beef with this new guy. just kinda weird that someone would make a first post like that and not introduce themselves. sorry if i "offended" anyone stevensolds When ANDROORAMOS posted, even though his keyboard was stuck in CAPS he was trying to help. Your whole reply was an obvious attack and you called him a troll, I think it is he that you should apologize to. Please clean up your sig and posts as required by forum rules.

ALSO CHECK WWW.AERO-TURBINE.COM Isnibs, when someone makes an introductory post like this, as helpful as it may be, its a bit suspect. I appreciate the fact that he posted, however these kinds of "mods" get disputed and argued over all over the place. It smells like a salesmen trying to pitch a product. Anyone willing to help will back up with proof that the product works on their car. Preferably a GM vehicle, not a Chrysler product. I admin 4 sites, and I see this kinda thing all the time. Especially at BonnevilleClub.com. I'm surprised ACNA members havent been more vocal about the above intake/exhaust product knowing how opinionated this group can be (myself included). Steven a formal complaint has been issued, please revise your signature.
