Hello everyone ......New here and also new to owning the most fabulous car ever! Classic owner and I like this car over any american production car on the market these days. Question.........Has anyone ever tried or know anyone that has.......put glass packs cat back? Remember the old days of glass packs? Do you think it would effect the car in ANY way. I would like to try it, but am always leary of mods in any way. These cars seem to tempermental at times and I want to eliminate repairs at all costs. Thanks in advance for your time..........Regards, Grant

Proper Cat back is probably better, but you'd be the first here to try it out.

Okay lets make sure i am describing it right.......I would leave the stock cat converter and just replace the stock mufflers with glass packs......would this hurt my back pressure? All i want is a different sound. Thanks for the replies

They are like fibreglass packed things that look like resonators but they are replacements for a muffler.

They flow more freely. Glasspacks tend to be somewhat loud, and they get louder over time as the glass fibers break up. It's a cheap way to upgrade the performance, and some glasspacks have a mellow, sort of exotic sound. My 1987 'Vette came with glasspacks that I had to replace to pass inspection, and they sounded much nicer than the Flowmasters that replaced them. You'll have to just try them out and see how you like them.
