I remember the thread where Bob posted the difference between the 4.0 and 3.8. Well, here's the chart for the 3.5L

I think I did an overlay of that with the L47 once too, but they are basically the same curves, just shifted up a bit.

Doesnt the V8 make like 205HP or so cause of the tranny?

Hey Dan, it looks like the 3.5L starts the torque bump a bit sooner in the rev range. It happens closer to 4,000 rpm for the V8, and looks like it's just after 3,000 rpm for the V6. I've heard people and magazines mention the torque as not being that different. However, a look at the low end shows differently. By about 1,500 rpm, the V8 is quite a bit torquier. And of course it also has lower gearing. It's interesting to see them side-by-side like that. I'd be glad to do an overlay if anyone finds it intriguing. Edit: as an aside, what other auto makers do you know of that publish their engine power curves like that? I don't know of any. I suspect because a lot of makers have engines that have pretty unimpressive curves, just impressive peaks. Those 250hp 3.0L V6's, what kind of low end torque do you think they are making?

I think that the overlay could be a cool idea. My link is now dead though (go figure). Do you have a copy of the 3.5 power chart?

This is neat, can you get the power chart for my 4.6 (LD8)?
