well, in my frenzy of spending money on my car, i thought of one thing i haven't done, that can be done to our cars, lowering.
so my question is, what are the vendors that make them, there has to be more than one. but i haven't really heard of any.

RSM Lowering Kit Lowers the car by 1.6" in the front, and 1.2" in the rear. Includes four springs and rear leveling arms. Improves handling and provides a firm ride. www.rsmracing.com/catalog.htm

i've never had a car lowered but doesnt it ruin the suspension? i've ridden in some and it was just to hard ride in.

I haven't lowered any of my rides, but have friends that have. The cars included a 1950 Mercury (think Stallone in "Cobra"), a 1974 Barracuda, and a 1994 "Splash" Ford Pickup. In every one of these cars you could feel the cracks in the concrete pavement.

yeah then no way i would lower it. i loved my Caddy De Ville for the same reasons why i love my Aurora. no way i want to lose the float mobile.

well, i lower all my cars. ive had mine slammed to lowered just a lil. when you lower it just a lil theres not that much of a difference at all, BUT if you lower it more than 2 inches youre gonna pay for it. the main thing is youre gonna lose your shocks/struts prematurely, thats with any lowering. the only thing you could do to keep the same ride would be having lowering springs and finding the same struts/shocks but with shorter stroke, it kinda sucks unless you can endure the ride and buying struts/shock every year or two

The proportions of the Aurora already give it a lowered look. The cut of the wheel wells are cut very close to the top of the car where the plane changes from vertical to horizontal (fender to hood, or fender to trunk lid.) Increasing the size of your rims gives the illusion of lowering and disabling the ELC in the back drops the car down quite a bit. My car has been mistaken for lowered, and its totally not at all.

letting all the air out of your ELC ruins your rear shocks.

yes it does, i keep a lil bit of air in my rear shocks. i keep my aurora on jack stands in my garage so my suspension dont prematurely go out on me

letting all the air out of your ELC ruins your rear shocks. It does, but after several hundreds of dollars my ELC still doesnt and never has worked. I bought new rear air shocks when I found out the ELC was busted and so far they have held up ok for 2 years. I never recommend purposely ruining your ELC, but in the event that it doesnt work, you end up with a ghetto lowered look.

Someone doesn't know what they're doing with it when they are checking it out.

Possibly, however I bought a used level sensor (wasnt going to spend $470+CDN on a new one), after I bought new shocks, that cost over $200 dollars. Its probably a wiring/electrical issue and I am not going to spend anymore on ELC.
With only me and my gf in the car, there isnt a lot of extra weight in the back to worry about. I tend to travel light.

I never have anyone in the backseat -- or if i do the motor is usually off. Not like the exploder wher there is a 600 pound desk in the backseat. I purposely do this so it doesnt wear that mfer out
