Please do yes. As soon as I get a free second I will be posting an update for everyone.
However, an email has been sent to all v1 members to congregate back here.
I have been doing my best to reply to all emails that I have receieved regarding the fate of V2.

Yes, it's quite the joke. No reflection on JW, but this is surely the most ridiculous host I've ever seen. Perhaps they got upset over our complaints?

They got upset over exceeding our 10% alloted resources on their equipment and wanted $70 USD (a month) to continue hosting. I said no. Anyone..please find me a better webhost. I cant/wont do this alone especially at this point with my personal life being as busy at it is right now

What jerks. I'd love to use up more than 10% of their resources in complaints. I would suppose stern letters of disapproval to their contact line would not be discouraged? Where is that spammer kid (whatshisname) when we need him?
I would suppose we could just stay here?

Yea, lets stay here til we get a consensus, but I'm happy here for now.
Even if we pay to get the full Proboards experience maybe we can freshen it up and get rid of the adds etc.
I dunno...we'll figure out something.
Thanks to all for sticking with us tho.

How ironic...
P.S. Congrats on the new place, JimW. I hope the move went smoothly.

Thank you, and like any move it didnt go 100% smoothly. Things are still in progress.
However Irony is the best way to describe our predicament.

I find this totally unbelievable as well! I am outraged by this host. I guess they're not in the business of CUSTOMER SERVICE! These messages boards don't take up that much server resources. If their server can't handle a message board, they don't have a server at all.

I'm upset as well Dan, however at this point, there is not much I can do except wait for my refund and pump it back into the ACNA pot. There seems to be a few upgrades to this Proboard dealy, so it will do for now....hopefully we didnt lose to many people

Good to see that their are stiff some with us. Let's hope more people show up as the days progress. Guess you got your wish Marc. You have your old post count back.

Jim i have a VERY good host for you....let me pick this one, trust me, ive had it for 3 years with no downtime. 4.95 a month, and as usual i will donate the first 5 bucks...
Btw Letitroll you are right, this host is so chock full of BS its not even funny. They say 200GB (Which we all know wouldnt even be real anyway), when we probably didnt even use hardly 2 or 3 gigs of bandwidth. All we use is a forum for christs sake.
No reflection on Jimbo either. Dont worry about it.
Btw everyone look at the letter i got from these morons:
Hello,
Yes, We have suspended your account becuase it has killled the server again. We already moved your account to temprorery server due to overloading old server that you can upgrade or fix the problem on your account but your account killed the server again and used more than 95% system resources such as CPU & Memory ... Unfortunetely Its not possible to re-active your account and you can only upgrade it to Dedicated server or Cancel this account.

I can't quote the e-mail I sent to them. I used one of those insult generators for it. It was great.

I cant quote my email either. Im afraid the board may blue out the entire message. Quite a few obscenities. Also asked them if it was a Pentium 2 server with 128MB of RAM and a DSL connection.

I know. He just set up a new website Dont let that steer you away though. 3 years of reliable service does more than enough justice. I cant believe anyone would even fall for Canaca's supposed "200GB" of bandwidth for 3.95...WTF.... I bet canaca is run out of a soiled bathroom in a poor neighborhood...with a couple of 5 year old computers and a single broadband connection,.

Steven, You said you have used www.gamingmatrix.net for 3 years, but what do you use your web space for? And are you accessing files a lot? Does Gamingmatrix even offer a discount for a year contract?

It was for a online gaming clan that we used to play in CS. We had about 30 or so members, most were much older than me. There arent that many people left, and they dont even play anymore. I may cancel soon...i dont know.
It was accessed a lot...and i have saved my stats for it. I used close to the 60gb bandwidth almost every month and not 1 problem. Also had about 2.5gigs of pure files taken up too. Members wanted to host their videos and such from in-game using Fraps Recorder to take vids of gameplay in progress. They were like 40 or 50 meg files each time and lots of users downloaded. Since we had 4 admins, each would have FTP access and would have personal files to send to friends etc on there.
One time i went over the bandwidth limit by nearly 2gigs, and this guy let me slide.
The only other option after that is the Reseller Account for $25 a month which i may do sometime soon.

Sounds good Steven. The least we can do is give it a try and if for some reason it doesn't work out, we'll just go somewhere else. After Canaca.com I don't think we could do any worse. . . even if we tried.

Wow, I just checked here on a lark. Glad it's up. I hope what they say about being unable to reactivate our account is not true. How will we recover anything? I have some older backups, but more recent would be better. However, can I respectfully suggest we just stay here? The new forum was supposed to have a great web page about the club, some tech info, and all sorts of other stuff. But in 6 months, none of those happened. I think the level of enthusiasm over the Aurora is about enough to sustain a forum and not much more than that. So if that's the case, which is perfectly alright, why not just stick with a forum, and why not one that is free like here? I really don't see a club newsletter, t-shirts, and so on ever coming out, and so why fund a reasonably similar site with contributions for an indeterminate amount of time? Sorry if this seems sort of downer, it's just my opinion. I don't see anything wrong with just having a forum and not a club anyway. The Aurora inspires a degree of passion, one enough to fuel a forum despite the car's demise. But I'm not sure it's enough to fuel all the pie-in-the-sky things people have mentioned. Look at the turnout for our "annual gathering", there will probably be about 4 Auroras there at Carlisle... As an aside, I recall we had quite a few outages here when it would say "maximum connections exceeded"...
