Is there a way to have a chat area of ANCA? Would anyone be interested?

although it would be cool, I don't think we have enough members to support something of that nature. I very rarely see ACNA members on services such as AOL instant messenger. I think a third-party program would be our best bet for ACNA chat. We could all get a certain messenger and use that to chat with.

I wouldn't use anything else but AIM, but an in-forum chat would be nice. Don't be so negative! And if it doesn't work out, it doesn't hurt anyway. Just not sure how it would be implemented...

I *believe* I can hook up a java chat room on the board that uses the existing member id's. I'll give it a shot, worst case we don't use it or it wipes out all the stickied info.

Very cool. Even keeps my name and everything. Perhaps put a link on the front page or something? Chats are fun, maybe I'll leave myself in there and check in from time to time

I'm getting connection error messages when I click "Connect"... Can anyone see if the chat window specifies what version of Java is needed to participate?

Please don't post so many replies back-to-back within such a short time period. You can always use the "Modify" feature to change a recent reply, if you have something to add. SOMEBODY HELP PLEASE UGHHHHH not to mention aurora groupie baby What does this mean anyway? Are you having problems with the chat function?

To get to 100 post counts? That's annoying. I think you can stick to MSN

To revive a slightly dusty thread...
Does anyone ever use the Beta Chat feature? I log in every once in a while when there are several members on the board, and nobody else is ever in the chat room. Just wondered if we should keep it around...

i am glad you "revived" this thread, because i was not aware we had a functional "chat room"... i always saw BETA chat, but it says it's just a test for now, so i didnt know it was working....but, yes, i would be interested in using it

I used to launch it in another tab while on the site, but no one ever used it. So I stopped.
I can change the name to remove the beta and testing references, though I doubt it will create a surge in usage. I guess there's no reason to get rid of it though. It doesn't hurt anything to be there.

I always look at it to see if anyone is in it but there's not so I don't open it. What if we have a scheduled weekly chat room time which people can then try to make?

Okay, today it's been pretty successful. I've chatted with a few owners so far.
Every Thursday night around 9:00 Eastern time can be "Aurora Chat Time" I know it's kinda late for them and kinda early for Pacific timers. Anyone else have an idea?
