a button that when I click it shows the new posts since the last time I was logged in would be nice, and a better search the popup is annoying.

Unfortunately customizing those two options are beyond our capabilities... Proboards owns the servers (including this one) that hundreds of discussion forums, and this is one of them. We as ACNA Admins only have creative control over certain features.
FWIW, there is a link at the bottom of the main page to "View the 25 most recent posts" which may help you out depending on how often you log in. There is also a Bookmark feature if there are certain threads you want to track. And I added the Search Page pop-up, because too often I was receiving complaints on the search page because users were not changing the default parameters and only searching back 7 days (therefore not usually finding what they needed in older threads).

Also if you click "mark as read" on the main page when you are done looking, then only the threads that are new since your last visit will show up with the new icon.

Heheh, on search, I find the popup annoying too. Especially as it pops up on the results... But apparently some people like it because they forget to adjust the default search parameters. I wonder if some scripting could set them to more reasonable values?

I wonder if some scripting could set them to more reasonable values? The Proboards support forum says "no". They said searching the whole history of the forum with every search would puts unnecessary strain on the server... but I don't see any other way to bring up old topics?! I always search all the way back (999 days), unless I happen to *know* something specific is more recent. I can remove the pop-up if it's a big problem, but that's the best way I can think of to inform new members of the search page default limitations.

Well, I meant scripting on our side, the custom stuff. I'm pretty sure something in javascript could change those values in the html (much like the second "forum jump" box). I can look into it sometime I guess... I hate web stuff, though...

Do you guys have ability to edit the actual page file. Like, could you change the html that is displayed on that page. If so it would be a very simple fix.
