Does anybody know if there will be rubbing upfront. I just got a set of goodyear eagles for free ;D They are pretty wide.

Those tires will be only 25.7" high compared to the stock ride height of 27.1", a -5% difference. This may be enough to negatively affect the traction control and put extra wear on the transaxle. Not a good choice in my opinion, sell them on Ebay and buy the correct size.

Correct. They should actually be skinner then the proper sized tires as well.

The smaller diameter will almost certainly cause false MPH & RPM readings.

would getting 235/55/16 be ok? Compared to the stock 235/60/16's, the overall height would be shorter... 5% to be exact. So your gauges would be thrown off a little, but I'm sure the wheels would still roll. Is there a reason you don't want stock size if you will be buying them yourself anyway? P.S. if you want to check other sizes, check out this stickied thread; it has a calculator linked that will tell you exactly what heights result from different tire dimensions.

I'm wanting to keep the stock height, but widen the tire. I also realized I typed in the wrong tire size. I guess it should be 240/60/16

5mm would not be a noticable difference in width from 235... you'd want to go 245 or 255. But keep a couple things in mind; wider tires may look better but handle *worse* in snow & ice (and I know you have plenty of that in Indy), and also odd sized tires not commonly used may be available but will be much more expensive. The most common sized tire for full-size cars is 225/60R16 ... I found that even the Aurora's 235/60/16's cost more and there were fewer options to choose from between tire brands.

there shouldn't be any rubbing on them tires. I have some fat tires on my aurora with 20's on it.

Smallest recommended tires would be 225/60/16s, the reduction in diameter is minimal, at least this is what I have heard.
I've been rolling on 255/50/17s with no problems btw.
Its always best to stay close to the stock tire height of 27.1"

It would be 5% of 235 shorter, but overall, it's 5/60 shorter which is a little over 8%. That's a reasonable difference, imagine your speedo being off by 8%.
