22" is way too big imho. too much "bling bling" if you know what i mean. 22 or more is generally for SUV's anyway. My friend puts 26's on his Bronco II. lol.

Check the "Exterior" forum (where I've moved this thread)... that's where most topics on wheels and lowering are located.

There was a thread somewhere that had pictures of 22" rims on a 2nd gen Aurora. I suspect by the time you go that big, you can't counter it with low-profiles, meaning the overall tire height will change.
I believe only RSM now sells lowering springs for the front. Eibach did long ago, and you may find some used ones on eBay now and then.

Lots of our Classic members have gone w/ 20s, but I believe only 99Rora has done it in combination w/ lowering. IIRC, he used the Eibach kit - which was like a 1.2"/1.0" drop. It looks perfect, and I don't remember him mentioning any rubbing issues.
As for 22s, I think you could PROBABLY stuff them in the wheelwells w/ some 30 or 35 series tires, but your speedo, DIC, and MPG would definitely be thrown off. Additionally, braking will probably be detrimentally impacted and you may run into some problems with the TC and/or ABS. Oh yeah, and you'll go through wheel bearing/hub assemblies like a MoFo.
If you stick with 20s and a moderate drop like 99Rora did, you should be fine.

22's would look quite silly, 20's probably max on the Classic. If you look carefully, the top of the wheel well is close to the top of the car before it curves horizontally, I would want to respect that design by not going oversized on the 22" feet.
I'm shopping for another set of 17" or 18" if I can get em with tires.

i get what you guys are sayin which is that the car would be heightened by this and it could look somewhat silly which is why i was also considering putting on 18 with really lopros and lowering the car as far as possible to the ground only problem my city has the most dips of anyplace in the wsorld im almost positive bu tthat can be avoided i know where most are anyways what do you think of this

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to lower my car 1", but why go as low as possible? Since I'm only 18, and had no intention on buying a "luxury" car, I stumbled upon mine. Why would you want a luxury car lowered more than 1.5" anyways?
I would go with 18's with 45 series tires.. TRUST me.. I hit a pot hole one day (forced to with oncoming traffic) and ran me $450 for a new rim/tire. Get decent sized rims (18s preferably, but 20's are popular) and try and stuff some tire in there.. it will help down the road.

Why don't you go to like Discount Tire, and tell them you want 22s, and you were curious if they would fit your car. I don't know if they will do something like that, but its worth a shot.
Again, I would not recommend such huge rims. Me being 18, I also wanted 20s to impress the ladies and my friends, but with some good recommendations, I went to 18s and wouldn't look back. A truck/suv would be the only vehicle I would put something bigger than 20s on.
Most online places don't even display anything bigger than 20s for our cars..

Tire rack, which in my opinion has a horrible selection for our cars, only go to 18" on the customizer. I do like the vehicle image thing though, only site i know of that does that.
